Sony Ericsson K750 - one of the most important and most anxiously expected mobile phones of this year has finally hit the market. We are being offered a top-class device, which outruns most of the competition. No doubt a phone of its class naturally deserves a special review ... our is a little bit longer than usual.
The new Sony Ericsson K750 homes into the king class of the so called manager mobile phones. Once again quite boring at first sight, the phone invites you to peep into what is hidden inside its shell. By the way, this review comes out exactly a year after the publishing of the tests of the previous K700 model.
The K750i is a candybar style phone that weighs 99 grams (3.5 ounces), with its buttons that can be used with any finger. It has the 'dual-front' design common to most Sony Ericsson mobile phones since the T610, with the back of the mobile phone designed like a digital camera and intended to be held sideways to take photographs.
The K750i is available in four colours, Blue, Oxidized Black, metallic red and Blasted Silver.There is one side key on the left of the phone; when pressed in standby mode, it opens either the RDS FM radio or the Media Player as selected by the user, allowing playback of WAV/MP3/AAC audio files, and 3GP/MPEG-4 video files.The phone has good all-round support for many versions of the MP3 file format, however support for WAV encoded files is not as extensive.
The construction of Sony Ericsson K750 is standard. It has quite a conservative design, accentuated by the dark color tone, which is also the most frequent one.
K750i and W800i are essentially two phones with exactly same hardware specifications, soft modifications are available to convert a K750i to a W800i by using flashing software and the firmware files of the W800i model. Such modified phone will be able to use the Walkman feature which is available to W series phones only.
The size of Sony Ericsson K750 is 100 × 46 × 20 mm. The phone weighs 99 g. Its size characteristics send it into the category of small phones.The display of Sony Ericsson K750 is brilliant indeed.
Shortcuts
As the display has been mounted relatively high on the top side of the phone, there is enough space left for the keypad. The buttons of the functional part are distributed exactly in the way we would expect them to be from a high-class Sony Ericsson phone. As for phone calls, they are managed by the buttons situated just below the display. The green and the red receivers are missing. Here you will also find the back key and the correction C button.

In the bottom part of phone's left side is the slot for the Memory Stick Duo memory card (incl. the Pro version). It is protected by elastic gum cover; to pull out the card, press on it a bit and it will jump out itself. The card can be removed while the phone is on. A standard part of the Sony Ericsson K750's delivery package is a 64 MB memory card. If you happen to need more capacity, you will have to pay additionally. At present, the maximum capacity a mobile phone can take in is 2 GB.
Conclusion

K750 and Apple iPod performed one and the same song. As I was not equipped with a device to reduce the Sony Ericsson system connector towards a standard 3.5" jack (a device, which is however expected to appear on the market soon) I did not give the iPod any advantage. I used a pair of standard ear-phones with it too. As for Sony Ericsson, I activated both its MegaBass option and its equalizer. Sony Ericsson K750 does not support EDGE.Sony Ericsson K750 gets connected to the computer in three ways: through the infrared port, through Bluetooth or by means of the USB cable, which is delivered with the mobile.

Introduction
Nokia 3230 is basically the first smartphone, which could be considered a middle class one. The Nokia 3230 is a Symbian Series 60 smartphone announced on November 2, 2004. It was billed as the first Series 60 phone aimed at the mass-market rather than the higher-end Series 60 devices.
It runs on Series 60 2nd Edition Feature Pack 1 (Version 2.1), based on Symbian OS 7.0s. It features several games (including multiplayer Bluetooth games), a 1.23 megapixel camera, Nokia Lifeblog, a 32 MB RS-MMC to store extra images and applications, Push to Talk, a 176×208 pixel 65,536-colour screen, multimedia messaging, and RealPlayer.
The Nokia 3230 is one of the first with Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC), a walkie-talkie style method of communicating, and also Visual Radio, which enhances a normal radio receiver with extra info about artists and songs delivered over GPRS.
For data transfer, the phone can use EDGE to upload up to 35.2 kbit/s and download up to 178.6 kbit/s, and is a GPRS multislot class 10, up to 80 kbit/s.

Conclusion

Nokia 3230 is positioned into the "middle class" category. When I was using it, however, I did not notice almost any differences from the mobile phones of a higher class. The main reason is that Nokia 3230 uses the Symbian Series 60 OS, which is nearly identical for most of the mobile phones, offering the same functions every time.

If you feel like using your phone as a voice mailbox, then I will have to disappoint you. Nokia has not learned from the mistakes made in its previous models and thus the voice mailbox won't take in a record longer than one minute. Along with an unlimited video application, such a drawback is difficult to accept. The recorded results are usually saved into the Gallery.

Nokia 7610 is a mid-big and mid-heavy phone standing alongside to the usual handsets but compared to other smartphones it seems very slim. Lying on the table, Nokia seems thinner then Siemens SX1.Design evaluation is subjective; everybody can make his own opinion from the pictures. Personally, I enjoy 7610 very much - it's an elegant phone, differing strongly from its predecessors.Nokia 7610 is available in two colours:dark black-red and light white.

Display

The TFT active matrix display shows 65k colors, all other parameters are identical to those of the older Series 60 phones. The display is large (35x 41 mm) in comparison with this of a standard phone. It features usable resolution of 176 x 208 pixels.Nokia 7610 runs on the Symbian platform, version 7.0. Environmental look can be changed to different graphical motifs.

Nokia 7610 has 8MB of internal memory, the largest memory of all Symbian Series 60 phones. The memory card with the installed applications slows down the phone, but without it the main menu it opens apparently faster. As Nokia 7610 is a Symbian phone you can load it with more programs designed for the Series 60 platform. The mobile phone supports also Java.You can choose whether to store the pictures on the phone's internal memory or on the memory card. Considering the fact that every picture has size of about 250 kB at least.

Conclusions

Nokia innovate the Series 60 smartphones very slowly. Just compar e the 7610 features with the oldest 7650 model - most of the applications are still the same. As we wrote about the 6600 model, which it brings no radical change, I would write - except the megapixel camera - the same about Nokia 7610.
The biggest competitor comes from its own series: Nokia 6600. It's almost identical from a functional point of view and much cheaper at the same time. Siemens SX1, is still not obsolete in multimedia services against the Nokia smartphones. This Siemens model has an integrated radio and it works as an MP3 player as well.
